Ocala/Gainesville Attorney- Unpaid Wages/Overtime

Unauthorized Overtime

Most employers have a policy or handbook that advises employees that all overtime must be approved prior to it commencing.  That is a great policy for an employer, but not all scenarios fit nicely into getting approval in the middle of a project.

While each employee should follow the rule and get approval, an employee can still be entitled to overtime even if not approved.  It is illegal to reduce overtime simply because it was not approved.
